ALWAYS consult your doctor before using an ice bath if you have any health issues!

DO NOT USE if you are: Pregnant, have history of heart disease or high blood pressure, have diabetes, complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage, you wear a pacemaker, history of frostbite, have an open wound, had recent surgery, epilepsy or any other health concerns or risks.

Using an ice bath can dramatically decreases your body core temperature. The immersion in cold water constricts blood vessels and slows the flow of blood around the body, which combined with health complications, can cause your blood pressure to rise and give you a higher chance of cardiac arrest or stroke.

Our recommendation

Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using an ice bath correctly actually has many health benefits! We will always recommend you begin by spending no more than a few minutes in the ice bath, and slowly working you way up to the recommended time, never push your body beyond its limits.

Cold plunging has been shown to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, leading to an increase in adrenaline and noradrenaline. This can result in a temporary boost in energy and alertness, as well as improved circulation and reduced inflammation.

Cold plunge benefits extend beyond the mental and chemical aspects of your body too. Sports medicine has utilized cold water therapy for years, to help the active recovery of your muscles. Many athletes turn to cold plunging when looking for a new way to boost their performance!

Being immersed in cold water stimulates leukocytes, the white blood cells that help fight off sicknesses. It also causes the lymphatic system to contract, forcing fluid through the lymph nodes. This process aids in detoxing the body and strengthening your immune system.

Health Benefits

Cold water immersion is increasingly being used to tap into the body's natural healing powers. More and more sports therapists, wellness resorts, and health facilities are providing cold water therapy. Because it encourages healthy blood circulation, lowers high blood pressure, and strengthens their immune systems, cold water immersion benefits their clients.

After hot, intense workouts, cold water therapy helps athletes recover faster, reduce their body temperature, and improve their cardiovascular health. Ice baths can even help with delayed onset muscular soreness (DOMS).

Athletes and pricey wellness facilities are no longer restricted to cold therapy. The best way to maximize the healing abilities of the body at home is through cold water immersion.

3 Minutes Per Day

Cold plunging 3 minutes a day has shown the ability increase your baseline dopamine. Dopamine is the molecule in our brain and body that is linked to motivation. According to Dr. Andrew Huberman dopamine can enhance our depth of focus and lower our threshold for taking action towards our specific goals.
